If you're on the fringes of the Scottish Highlands, make sure to treat yourself to a visit to Ozone Cafe, nestled near the iconic Cape Wrath Lighthouse in Durness. This charming cafe offers not only a warm respite for hikers and travelers but also a culinary experience that leaves a lasting impression.

Upon stepping into Ozone Cafe, you're embraced by an atmosphere steeped in warmth and hospitality. The cafe is run by a welcoming father-daughter duo, John and Angie, whose kindness and attention to detail make you feel right at home. Imagine savoring a heartening bowl of beans on toast after a long trek, surrounded by the coastal beauty of the surroundings. As one satisfied customer, William Salt, aptly put it, “This is a fantastic, atmospheric place for those seeking wild experiences.” Indeed, Ozone Cafe is more than just a stopover; it’s a delightful experience that enriches your journey.

The menu may be modest, but the flavors are anything but. With hearty options such as homemade baked goods and generous portions, every meal is crafted with care. This is a place where weary walkers can recharge with comfort food that nourishes both body and soul. Amy Bucknall described her experience perfectly—"from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such genuine warmth and kindness." It's not just the food; it’s the shared laughter and camaraderie that makes each visit memorable.

A unique feature of Ozone Cafe is its bunkhouse, allowing visitors to extend their stay and soak in the magnificent landscapes surrounding Cape Wrath. With stories shared by fellow travelers in the guest book, you're invited to not only enjoy great food but also connect with a community of adventurers. Harry Castle remarked on the enduring hospitality, highlighting how the team even went above and beyond with personalized assistance when transportation issues arose.

For dog owners and enthusiasts, Ozone Cafe warmly invites your furry friends, as evidenced by Jade Wright’s experience with her pooch receiving a hearty meal as well. It’s this thoughtful detail that enhances the overall experience, making it a family-friendly haven in a remote location.

In a nutshell, Ozone Cafe is the perfect combination of breathtaking surroundings, delicious food, and unparalleled service. Whether you're a weary hiker looking for a nourishing meal, or a family seeking a cozy spot to unwind, this cafe at the edge of the world delivers a slice of happiness. With every visit, the echoes of laughter and the aroma of fresh cooking will beckon you back to this little gem time and again. This is a fantastic, atmospheric place for those seeking wild experiences. John and his daughter Angie were very kind hosts and provided excellent food and hospitality. I would recommend for anyone visiting to stay overnight for a proper experience. John was very accommodating with our travel arrangements and we really enjoyed their company. Thank you both we hope to return.

I had walked to the cape wrath and felt worse for wear. The ozone cafe felt too good to be true, I was welcomed with beans on toast and my dog had a big bowl of food. It was lovely to write in the guest book and see messages written by other walkers, some that I recognized from along my walk. Lovely calm atmosphere and I would be keen to stay in the bunkhouse another time. Do take cash, I forgot mine and felt bad about it.

We had the absolute pleasure of visiting when we finished the Cape Wrath Trail, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such genuine warmth and kindness. The hosts went above and beyond to make us feel at home offering us a delicious breakfast and a comforting hot drink early in the morning, which we deeply appreciated. Their hospitality was exceptional, caring, thoughtful, and sincere. It’s rare to come across people who are so kind and generous.

We stayed overnight in the bunkhouse here to spend a bit more time with the amazing scenery on the Cape. John was a great host, giving us walking recommendations, cooking a hearty dinner and breakfast, and even stepping up to drive us back to the ferry 12 miles away when the minibus company made a mistake and couldn’t take us back from the lighthouse. Very welcoming and a great respite from the damp and wild outside here!

A sight for sore eyes and sore feet at the end of the Cape Wrath Trail! Well stocked little cafe at the end of the world, with friendly service and generous portions. The cafe is decorated with plaques describing the history of the lighthouse and the local area. They have a bunkhouse too, if you want to stay after hiking in!

Beautiful place with kind, welcoming and lovely people. Good place for a warm cup of tea and homemade baked goods after a long walk or short visit. The father-daughter duo that runs this business are very welcoming and helpful. When I was passing through, they had a bunk room available-just a tidbit for those who would find it helpful (looking at you CWT and SNT walkers!). Thanks for your hospitality Angela and John!
